Chickens

The chicks are now well past the cute stage and are starting to look like hens except for Rhonda who is starting to look like a rooster.
We’ve moved them out of the bedroom and into the garage, where they are spending their nights under the heat lamp. During the day, when it warms up some, they are out in their pen, chasing bugs and enjoying dust baths.
I really am afraid Rhonda is a rooster.

How fun. Nice hen house and run. When did they hatch? My birds are now 5 months old. The Ameracauna has been laying for 10 days. The three Barred Rocks just make a lot of noise, but no eggs yet!
Pretty funny about your rooster. …… uh…… maybe not. Rhonda may come to a Sunday dinner soon.

Thanks, Paigemom. They are three weeks old now but Rhonda is much larger than the others and bosses the others around. We can’t have roosters here in town so I hope I’m mistaken!

sound so nice.. I’m a bit jealous. When I had chickens I refused to get a rooster (bought them as pullets). I’d be afraid of him too.

I am starting to think Rhonda might be a hen after all.
